Was the seventh of eight children.
Early on, Edie considered going by the stage name Mazda Isphahan.
Her leopard print coat was given to her by a stranger/English man.
Instead of covering up a prominent scar she had on her forehead, she would outline the scar between her eyebrows with black eyeliner.
It's been said that after she had spent her way through her inheritance, she would use watercolour paints as eyeshadow.
Second cousin of actress Kyra Sedgwick and actor Robert Sedgwick.
Believed to have inspired the Bob Dylan songs "Just Like a Woman" and "Like a Rolling Stone".
